An STGA guide has gone through 2 years of training to become a professional guide; this means you can be assured of high quality and accurate information.
Our training covers emergency situations, so you can rest at ease that we are qualified and have your safety as a priority.
All of our guides are covered by Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Our guides go through rigorous testing during their training and sit an exam at the end of their training.
Part of this exam tests for knowledge and accuracy of information.
Once qualified our guides may partake in our Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme to ensure their information is correct and up to date.
A Green Badge Guide is a professionally qualified guide who is able to carry out tours within a specific region of Scotland.
For example, guides who have obtained a Green Badge – Shetland Islands will only be able to carry out tours in the archipelago of the Shetland Islands.
The Green Badge training course is in accordance with EN15565.
Our Find Your Guide service searches our database to find a suitable guide for your tour, based on your dates, starting point and a special interest.
Once you have found your perfect guide, you can contact them directly or with our contact form.
All STGA guides are self-employed members of the Scottish Tourist Guides Association, the contract for services booked is between you and the guide.
All qualified STGA guides have Public Liability and Indemnity Insurance cover.
