The Siege of St Andrews Castle

477 years ago protestant reformers led by Norman Leslie of Rothes gained access to St Andrews Castle to avenge the execution of George Wishart by Cardinal Beaton. Their summary execution of Cardinal Beaton kicked of an 18 month siege – a key moment in the Scottish Reformation.
