DAY 1: GLASGOW TO OBAN
Enjoy a lovely morning taking a boat trip on Loch Lomond before touring west into Argyll where you will enjoy rugged coastal scenery travelling alongside Sea Lochs. We will also explore ancient monuments of Kilmartin Glen that date back to the Neolithic and Bronze age before travelling along the Firth of Lorn to Oban.
09:00 – Meet your Blue Badge Guide and depart Glasgow.
Learn about Loch Lomond, its geography and legends.
10:20 – Arrive at Tarbet on the Banks of Loch Lomond.
10:30 – Take a Cruise on the Loch exploring the northern shores. Refreshements and facilities are on boat as well as indoor seating.

11:45 – Arrive back at Tarbet after the cruise and tour towards Inveraray along Loch Long and Loch Fyne.
Learn stories of the Scots of Dalriada, Christian missionaries and Vikings.
12:30 – Arrive in Inveraray for lunch and free time to explore.

13:30 – Depart Inveraray
13:50 – Arrive at Crarae Gardens for a visit
This is described as a peaceful paradise in Argyll and has a gorge, waterfalls and flowers in abundance.

14:50 – Depart Crarae Gardens and travel towards Dunadd Fort and Kilmartin Glen.
15:30 – Spend time exploring Dunadd Fort and the many ancient monuments within Kilmartin Glen. Your guide will tailor this visit to the group and give you an insight to these spectacular sites.
16:40 – Depart Kilmartin and travel to Oban past Loch Melfort.
18:00 – Arrive into Oban for a relaxing evening and a dinner.
Dinner at leisure or group dinner options available.
Oban is the Seafood Capital of Scotland and there are great places to eat out. If you have energy left after the days touring why not take a walk up to McCaigs Tower overlooking the town.
DAY 2: OBAN TO GLASGOW via TROSSACHS
This day has a blend of old and new with a visit to Ben Cruachan Hydro Electric Power Station and a journey of up Glen Orchy towards the Trossachs and the Dukes Pass where we will stop for lots of photos. All this before visiting a Whisky distillery on the way back to Glasgow!
09:00 – Depart Oban and travel along the Pass of Brander to the foot of Ben Cruachan.
This is the Highest Mountain in Argyll and sits at 1126 Meters. ‘Cruachan’ was the battlecry of the Campbell Clan.
10:00 – Arrive at Ben Cruachan (The Hollow Mountain) Visitors Centre and take a tour in the Mountain.
This tour takes you deep inside the mountain and the guides will tell you about how they have transformed the mountain into a Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Power Station.

11:30 – Depart Ben Cruachan and travel along the banks of Loch Awe with views of Kilchurn Castle.
12:30 – Arrive in Tyndrum and have lunch (variety of options available).
13:40 – Depart Tyndrum and tour eastwards before turning off and journeying along the Dukes Pass in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Stop along the way for stories from your guide and photo stops.
16:00 – Arrive at Glengoyne Distillery for a tour and tasting.
Glengoyne is a fine single Malt whisky and the tour is excellent. Find out the history of the distillery and the process that produces this excellent tipple!

17:20 – Depart the Distillery and travel back to Glasgow.
Approx 18:20 – Arrive Glasgow.
This tour can be tailored to the group by the guide and visits can be altered due to weather. Crarae Gardens are best visited in the Spring and summer months and an alternative to this would be a visit to Inveraray Castle.
