OUTLANDER DAY TOUR
09:00 – Depart Edinburgh and tour along the Firth of Forth Coast to Blackness Castle.
10:00 – Arrive at Blackness Castle for a visit.
This impressive fortress was used in Series 1 as Fort William and the Headquarters for Black Jack Randall. The building dates back to the 15th Century and its nickname is the ‘Ship that never Sailed’ due to its ship like structure.

11:00 – Depart Blackness Castle and travel the short distance to Linlithgow Palace for a visit.
11:30 – Arrive Linlithgow Palace.
Linlithgow Palace was used as Wentworth Prison in Series 1 and where Jamie was imprisoned. It was once the favourite Residence of the Stuart Monarchs and here you will hear stories about some of their most colourful characters including Mary Queen of Scots who was born in the Palace in 1542.
After the visit enjoy lunch in the town of Linlithgow.

13:30 – Depart Linlithgow and drive to Doune Castle via Stirling with views of the Kelpies and Stirling Castle.
14:40 – Arrive at Doune Castle
Doune Castle plays a leading role in the show and stands in for the fictional Castle Leoch. This was also a Residence to the Stuart monarchs but was also used in Monty Python and the Holy Grail Movie as well as Game of Thrones.

15:40 – Depart Doune Castle and drive along the north side of the Forth to Culross.
16:30 – Arrive in Culross for a walk around the Village to the Old Mercat Cross.
Culross was used in series 1 and 2 of Outlander and featured as the fictional village of Cranesmuir and also the Jacobite encampment in series 2.
17:20 – Depart Culross and travel over the Forth Bridge with a stop off for a photo of the Rail Bridge.
Approx 18:30 – Arrive back into Edinburgh.
