International Tourist Guide Day 2025

On Friday 21 February 2025, we are proud to mark International Tourist Guide Day! Launched in 1990 by the World Federation of Tourist Guide
Associations (WFTGA)
with participation from 15 countries, the event has since grown, with guides worldwide offering free tours and activities for local communities. We know first hand the huge
difference a professional tourist guide can make when visiting a new place and love having a day when we can give extra recognition to our members who work hard to be the best ambassadors for Scotland and the tourism industry.

This year we would like to give a special mention to our newly qualified Green Badge Guides in the North East of Scotland and Orkney, and wish the Blue Badge Class of 2025 lots of luck with their final exams. The students are reaching the end of their 18-month course and will graduate this spring – in time for the busy summer season.

Our Glasgow and Southwest Branch will be hosting a number of walks in association with Glasgow’s Good Moves Team around Kelvingrove Park on 11th March in celebration of International Tourist Guide Day 2025.
