In the Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology 2017, we invite you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Edinburgh’s fascinating Georgian past. Let us guide you through the dazzling architecture of the New Town and discover more about the famous and eccentric characters who lived there.
To celebrate the 250th anniversary of Edinburgh’s New Town, Edinburgh’s Georgian Shadows will be lighting up six of the New Town’s most interesting buildings to bring the Georgian past to life in the context of a modern city.
To complement this event, the Edinburgh Branch of the STGA, Scottish Tourist Guides Association, are offering guided walks of the original Georgian New Town, highlighting these buildings.
