STGA Green Badge Course        Scottish Tourist Guides Association Green Badge

The STGA Green Badge course is for anyone who does not wish to guide all of Scotland but prefer to be qualified to guide in a smaller area or region of the country.

However, STGA also has a responsibility to ensure that guides are where the tourism industry wants guides, or they can travel to those areas. Therefore, we have reviewed our training business plan.

We have several green badge areas including Shetland, Orkney, Western Isles, North Highlands

Notice: Until 2024 the STGA Board have decided to stop GB courses on the Mainland, except for North East (Aberdeen area) to enable a good supply of Guides for the new deep-water harbour receiving larger cruise ships. It was agreed to a total of 3 rounds of training in partnership with Aberdeen University streaming the Core Learning element of the course. Covid prevented training in this area in 2020 and we hope to begin again in 2021.
