Central & East Scotland
Central and East Scotland
Following the highland boundary fault, the Heart of Scotland is wealthy in its geological, cultural and historical diversity. The Gaelic south west of the isles of Islay and Jura, the Kintyre peninsula, and south Argyll is where rugged mountains meet white sandy beaches and whisky distilleries of international distinction. Whisky is a national past time in Scotland, and most of our guides would be delighted to help you sample a wee dram or two!
Further east you can find out why so many people love Loch Lomond with its sparkling blue waters, grassy golf courses all on it's infamous banks. Some of our guides are trained mountain leaders and can be coaxed into their walking boots for a hike up Ben Lomond, where they can point out interesting wildlife whilst telling you the geological history of the region.
Stirling is the royal brooch of the nation with its majestic castle towering imperiously over the M9/A9 as you travel up to soft fruit country of Tayside & Angus, where rich agricultural land supports the best strawberries and raspberries inthe country, as well as beautiful blooming gardens. Test our guides green fingered credentials whilst taking a wee break from touring in one of these gardens.
Further east the Kingdom of Fife welcomes visitors to even more golf courses such as St Andrews and Carnoustie, while the textile capital of Dundee and the Forth Bridges highlight Scotland’s engineering and industrial ingenuity.
