Hugh O'Neill

 

Born, brought up and educated in Glasgow I then spent 40 years working in the construction industry as senior manager and director.Mostly working in Scotland and Northern England, I visited regaularly every corner of Scotland. Latterly I  worked as a business consultant with clients which included a major international architects firm, and developed further my interests and understanding of architecture, producing a guide to Glasgow's Victorian buildings.

Other interests are Sport --I was a Scottish rowing internationalist, racing at Henley and several European regattas,and Shooting --I represented the Royal Naval Reserve in NATO competitions. I am currently a Governor at Glasgow Caledonian University.

 Highlight of my career so far -too many to name perhaps, but appearing on BBC with the actor Richard Wilson in Britain's Best Drives sticks out. The photograph above shows the two of us aboard the SS Sir Walter Scott --I am the younger one on the left!
