Blue Badge Guides
Blue Badge Guides are qualified and insured to guide throughout the whole of Scotland.
The Blue Badge is an international symbol of quality and professionalism in the tourism sector.
Blue Badge members in Scotland, are trained through the University of Edinburgh with an intensive two year course amounting to 1300 hours and involving weekend and summer school in the class room and on the field.
The Blue Badge accreditation is benchmarked to the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at SCQF Level 7 (Higher National Certificate equivalent)
Once qualified, Scottish Blue Badge guides are insured to guide all across Scotland from Shetland and Orkney, the Western Isles down to Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders.
You can spot our Blue Badge guides with their distinctive blue badge either on pendant or pinned, displaying the STGA Coat of Arms.
